Ok, so I’m sure this design is probably gonna confuse a lot of you guys right off the bat, so this will require a lot of explanation. One of the animals I knew I wanted to use for my Nature creatures was a type of cattle, as they have very strong ties to the element by way of eating grass like there’s no tomorrow and their excrement being used as fertilizer for various plants, which made it a very obvious pick in my opinion. However, the specific breed of cattle I based this design off of is called the Ankole-Watusi, which isn’t very well-known but is still very unique because GOOD GOG THE HORNS ON THESE THINGS! These cattle have some of the largest and thickest horns of any cattle breed, with the largest ones being up to 100 pounds EACH. In fact, the first time I saw images of this cattle I said they looked like someone glued a pair of tree trunks to either side of a cow’s head. And so, remember that I said that, I decided for this project to take that idea and roll with it, turning the horns into literal trees and adding root-like patterns extending from then across the rest of the body. So long story short, this design was inspired by a silly statement I made about a very bizarre looking cattle breed that a friend from high school told me about, and the end result in my opinion is actually pretty good. So I hope you guys enjoy this super funky fella and I’ll see you tomorrow for the final addition to the Nature roster!
