Just like how the Tidal Whale is the only fully aquatic creature among my Water enemies, this guy here is the only fully terrestrial one in the roster. While there were many land animals with strong ties to water I could have chosen from, I wanted to go with an elephant specifically for their ability to suck water into their trunks and spray it back out, which will be one of the main attacks this beast will use in the game. Also, I’m putting it on the same power level as the Mantiscorch from last week, and will be collectively referring to them as Apex creatures from here onwards. My idea is to have one of these Apexes serve as a sort of mini boss for each of the elemental regions before players face of against the true boss the area, but I won’t get into too much detail with them right now. You’ll have to stay tuned for that. So on that note, I hope all of you enjoy this big boi and I’ll see you next week for the creatures of Wind!
