Random character that I made a long time ago that I might do some more stuff with in the near future !!
Name: Viorel
Pronouns: He/Him
Age: ~15 (probably?)
Species: Vampire
Lives in: Delaware, USA
Favorite books: "Finnegans Wake by James Joyce", and "A Concordance to Finnegans Wake" by Clive Hart (lol)
Favorite food: Black tea, steeped with dried linden tree flowers, with a small amount of milk, although added along with the water when boiling to "enhance the gentle flavour of the linden flowers."
"My favourite-!" food: Garlic bread
Languages: Fluent in English and Romanian and has studied some Munsee and Hungarian.
Description of appearance: Extremely minor facial hair, with lots of acne, pointy ears (usually hidden) with piercings which he seldom actually makes use of, a slightly uncannily slender stature, and often wearing fancy clothes like suits with bowties and a homburg or bowler hat. He does wear more informal attire at times (T-Shirts with graphics, slacks, although he usually adorns the same formal hats), but only for special occasions when he feels comfortable around the person he is going with.
Description of personality: He's a bit generically punky and rebellious, but he's been a lot more unique in some ways due to how he's been affected by his nature and his parents. He usually strictly speaks sophisticated Received British English even though he lives in the US, often has his nose in a book, and is unapproachable unless he warms up to you, in which he can actually be quite loud spoken and very amiable. He has difficulty communicating his thoughts directly and is prone to going on tangential rants even if his mind is still set on the topic at hand. He can do this purposefully if he wants.
Description of background: Viorel has very conservative parents (probably due to being immortal), to the point where they have a distaste for almost all modern technological innovations. Viorel is extremely sheltered and in fact only began school at 13 in which he was a freshman at high school (9th grade). Before, that Viorel was literally never allowed outside, and left to his own non-electronic devices for entertainment and education. His parents are very neglectful, and only care about him enough to keep him alive at a bare minimum and make sure he doesn't break their rules. The house they live in is very large and old. Very few rooms are actually used, with only a few designated for the family's usage. One of them, although not well kempt, is a full library, where Viorel spent most of his time, reading any book he could get his hands on regardless of the subject matter. He is unsure of the contents of the non-designated rooms though, because he is not allowed entrance to them. His parents finally decided to send him to school because he was at the age where he was getting too curious about those rooms and their old, stockpiled blood supply was getting ever staler and they needed someone to try and collect more blood. The rules impeded on Viorel still apply at school, and he must always wear a hat to cover his ears. They don't do anything to care for his skin because it just serves to hide his pale skin. He has never been very happy with concealing his identity, but it works well for him. And anyways, he hardly ever has to take his nose out of his book anyways, because he already knows everything being taught. There are the occasional wisecracks about him, but hardly anyone even notices he's there for him to get bullied.
Everything changed when he met Vi. (More about her later!)
This is the kind of character that I hope to be held in the same regards as some of Akita's or Sunny's, in that I want people to care about him (and his friends) !!!! I think it'll be fun building a little urban fantasy world for them to live in... I was thinking about taking inspiration from my hometown's history but that's for another project ehehhehehe
(ik the picture is a bit boring, but im very tired...)
Ah...I think I understand? I was simply commenting on the fact that most OCs that are made by people I know have rather unfortunate parental situations
it's not on purpose, though, just a result of some stupid stuff that i was gonna explain but it turned out to be a bad idea and i almost had another episode uh lol haha
