There are many different ways for characters to have power in the world of mnm. The first would be something genetic, such as being born a demon/angel. Your power level depends on your ranking (Read other lore artwork for details if you want), Chaos and Peace lords, Kami and Akuma are the strongest in both the afterlives. Another way to obtain power is hosting a Chaos/Peace lord. For example, Midori holds the ability of both sins Wrath and Pride. However, it is very rare for the host to control their own body when fighting. The possibility of being able to wield such a being's abilities on your own is roughly 0.05% and there is still yet to have such a user. The third method is by possession. This is simply just by a ghost entering your body. However, in order to obtain the powers of the spirit is through bonding with it through seance, rituals or simply just telepathic communication. Once bonded with the ghost, you will obtain abilities. The abilities you obtain will depend on how the spirit has died. A prime example of this would be if you were to bond with one who has died from drowning, which would grant you the ability to manipulate water.

In order to strengthen this ability, you must train it, for it does not come naturally. The human body can only hold so many spirits, so be careful with how many spirits you wield. The last method originates from Angel Blood. Angel blood is an extremely rare substance to obtain. It is held by agents of the PEIA, which is how they are allowed to exorcise evil spirits. It can be obtained through an actual angel, hosts of peace lords, or can be gifted from heaven itself..Angel blood allows its holder to do anything an angel can, but with limitations. Angel blood can be held in certain objects, and grants power to whoever holds it. Along with possession abilities, these powers must be trained in order to make them stronger.
