Day 2 of the zombies

Day 2: The Silence Before the Storm
The sun rose over a world that no longer felt familiar. Streets once filled with laughter and chatter were now eerily quiet. The virus had spread faster than anyone could have imagined. News stations were offline. Phones buzzed with emergency alerts, but no one was left to read them.
In the heart of the city, a small group of survivors huddled inside an abandoned bookstore. Among them was Maya, a high schooler who had skipped class the day before. Lucas and the teacher rampaging through the school halls, their eyes glowing with and all twisted. It wasn’t just a virus. It was something else. Something ancient.
Meanwhile, Lucas — no longer a boy, but a creature of rage and hunger — had begun to change. His body twisted further, bones cracking and reforming. He was evolving. The teacher, now his second-in-command, followed him like a shadow. Together, they led hordes of infected students through the city, searching for new prey.
But deep underground, in a hidden lab beneath the school, a scientist named Dr. Elara Quinn was watching. She had never seen this before. The rat wasn’t just a random mutation. It was a carrier of something bad.
She activated a beacon. A signal pulsed through the airwaves, reaching out to anyone still listening.
Back in the bookstore, Maya’s radio crackled to life.
“If you’re hearing this… there’s still hope. Come to the lab beneath Westbridge High. Bring anyone who’s still human. We can fight this.”
Maya looked around at the terrified faces of the survivors. She knew what they had to do.
Outside, the infected were gathering. Lucas raised his head, sniffing the air. He could feel something… a challenge. A threat.
Day 2 had begun. And the war for humanity was about to start.
