Backstory:

At age 6, she lived a happy life in a small village. Her father was a scholar, and so Akita grew up enjoying learning. Then her mother died of an unknown illness right after Akita and her siblings left for school. Akita was devastated, but she learned to move on a little, since she had to take care of her three 3 year old siblings. It was 6 years later when it was the last day of her life. She had found out that her father had killed Lani from listening in on a conversation between him and several strangers. Turned out her father was the worst kind of person. A murderer. His next target was Lyrei Carybark and her family. When little Akita found out, she tried to foil his plot by warning her best friend, but it was too late. All but Lyrei were dead, and Akita was chased into an alley by her father. She was hoping to get answers, but he tried to kill her too. He managed to severely injure her leg, but since he had taught her training, she managed to kill him in self defense, a moment that stayed with her for the rest of her life. She fled after that, chased out by the people who once treated her well, and unable to handle the memories. She was on the run ever since, though she found evidence of an ancient dagger that might help her since it was in her family for years, and since she thought it might..explain some things. On her way to find it, she was found by Andi Newleaf, who meant to take her to Starsguild, a place where she was needed, and where she would be safe. The plan was derailed by him getting captured by Darkar, but Akita was in turn found by Starsguild. They were people like her, people who had suffered the pain of the world. They stood up for the one cause that could keep them going, to speak for those who knew the hurt, those who wanted to end the ancient wars. Akita found her place with them, having friends for the first time in years. However, she also found ghosts of her past there. And she still never healed from it, always hearing voices in her head telling her she would never break free, and that she would never be accepted....In addition, the grief for her sister, Lani, and the worry for the other two, often is overwhelming. Her sleep is often troubled....
