Ok, first off, I’m sorry about being absent for like 2 weeks in a row. Something about 4th of July celebrations this year left me feeling very unmotivated for some reason. But now that I’ve gotten myself out of that funk, I can finally continue adding new creatures to my collection, specifically those of the Lightning element. This first one will need a bit of explanation: it’s mainly based off of a cheetah, due to them being the fastest land animals on the planet and as such are compared to bolts of lightning. But also decided to throw in elements from the Raiju; beasts of thunder from Shinto mythology that are companions to the thunder god Raijin. The Raiju are described as being constantly cloaked in lightning, and while most depictions show them as white and blue dogs they can take on many other animal forms, including some wild cats. This is what the grey and white coloring on the back is for, which is also a reference to the white fur cheetah cubs have on their backs. As for the cloak of thunder, that will probably be shown in-game by these beasts charging themselves up with electricity to dash around players at literal lightning speeds. This was a pretty difficult design to get right, but I think I’m satisfied with it for the time being, so I hope all of you enjoy it as well and I’ll see you again tomorrow for the next one!
