Backstory:

Flynn was always an adventurous soul, and was always secretly training to be a soldier, though his parents kept him out of the war as much as they could. He found Zyla on one of these adventures, buying her from an antique shopowner, who never realized what his store held. He and his wife thought the store was haunted, and thought it was because of the bracelet, so of course, with his adventurous spirit, he bought the bracelet. It was Zyla, one of the legendary Strengthener Mentalians. They had small adventures in town, but were just the local troublemaker duo, living a fairly peaceful life. However, once Zori came offering him and his friend Lúca Starbringer a job as assassins, they both accepted at 17, Flynn running away to do so. They were a bit too eager...Flynn quickly showed his natural skills, excelling in his training. Lúca advanced quickly as well, in different ways. He began to be known as the best assassin Darkar had, especially in the Ashborne Division. During this time, he spent time to send letters home, telling them he was safe, a traveling artist and guard for some trade caravans. At 20, Zori put him on a new job, without Lúca...This job was from someone connected with the Obsidian family. The target was, of course, was Algorin Letaris, the holder of the Mentalian Keshiir Obsidian. Flynn took the job eagerly, him and Zyla doing all the research they could on the guy. Turned out he was easy enough to find. Once Flynn went after him, however, he was nearly killed, and Zyla was horribly injured. How can a Mentalian be injured? Well... Algorin tore the bracelet that held her soul. This significantly weakened both her and Flynn. Instead of being killed, Algorin offered them a deal to stay out of the war permanently. Flynn accepted, leaving his job with Darkar. He went back to his parents and Ayesha, who were glad he was back safe. He never told them about who he used to work with, but rebuilt his life as a singer, once he met Maya, that is. Maya, the girl he fell in love with...Eventually, she returned his love, after he had joined her band for a couple of years. He eventually did tell her about his old job, but she accepted him nonetheless. He made a peaceful, good life for himself and Zyla...
