Cryox

So as a bit of a disclaimer, unlike some of the other elements, I pretty much knew from the start exactly what animals I wanted to base my Ice-element creatures on. To me, nothing felt more fittiing to use that one of the single most unique an iconic of all Arctic animals; the Musk Ox. Not only are these oversized sheep absolute units in terms of body size, but they’re also very well adapted to the cold thanks to the wool that’s eight times warmer than a normal sheep under that shaggy coat of fur. And because of just how bulky they are, I also wanted to make it look somewhat like a living mountain, and despite a bit of trial and error I managed to get a result that I really like. The only other issues I had where getting the silhouette to actually looks like a real musk ox and coming up with the name. While I do like the name that I’ve settled on now, part of me thinks it might be a bit to generic, but luckily I have a few backup name options loaded up so if I do decide to change it I’ll have at least a few options. Aside from all of that though, I think this design came out very nicely, and I only took one day to draw it so I’m super happy about that! I hope all of you guys like this behemoth of the tundras as well and I’ll see you next time for the next creature of Ice!
