Chapter 1

The Empire State Building

Hello, my name is Nathan. I'm 14 years old but you really don’t need to know that until the till later. You might know me because I died by “taking a trip to the ground” from the top of the Empire state building. (Which by the way is a 1,250 foot drop). Kind of a bad thing to be known for. But hey, sometimes the news lies. Correction, the news always lies. I’m alive and I'm leaving New york. Because of my teacher Ms. Gadwerth.

You see, my Ms. Gadwerth hated me. She always hated me because Ms. Gadwerth’s son, Jon. He was the class bully.He is a super mean kid. Like the kind who steals your lunch and then tells on you for not putting his favorite food in it. Back to the thing I was telling you. He hated me because I happened to have destroyed him in a yo mama roast off. Which I totally regret doing. He said “yo mama so ugly resistance to her ugliness is futile”. Pretty good right. So anyway, after that pathetic roast, it was my turn. And here is what I said: Yo mama is so stupid when she was looking for a husband she checked the male-box.

See that's a great roast if I ever saw one. I just love it. Total originality. Saying that totally got me in level three trillion trouble. I was gonna die here. If I didn’t then somebody around me would be my guardian angel of a lifetime. Here it comes...

He got really mad and screamed for his mother. She arrived so fast that it seemed she was standing right behind my best friend Jackson. Who was the kid who had tied with Jon for the kid who was the most spoiled. She said something that started the war. “Detention for the rest of your life”.
