Im doing this redesign much earlier in the day that usual, partly because I don’t have much else to do this morning and didn’t feel like putting it off and partly because it felt appropriate for the dragon. Out of all 5 of my Nature dragons, this one definitely took the longest to make, specifically because of the wings. I based them off of a real-life flower called the Dwarf Morning Glory, which also inspired the name, and trying to integrate the look of its petals with the butterfly-shaped wings took me ages to get right. I did eventually get it to a point I was happy with, and even more so now that I’ve redrawn the lines coming off the center. The other notable changes I’ve made now are making the stinger and the end of the tail a bit bigger and adding a bit of pink to the markings behind the eyes. This dragon was one that I didn’t change very much from the original, but I still feel like the few alterations I’ve given it have improved the design, so I consider that a success. How everyone likes this flowery butterfly and stay tuned for the Metal dragons updates coming next weekend!
