after major improvement of body armor, the US government is in desperate need of something has more piercing ability. therefor, the M4A7 was developed. Using the M4 platform, the gun provides classic ergonomics and high reliability. the M4A7 is chambered in the new 3.54x71mm cartridge, which has a higher flight speed and the impact is focused in a smaller area. the problem with this cartridge is that because of its small diameter, it does not has a lot of lethality. to compensate for this, M4A7 has a rpm of 1700. with the smaller diameter, the magazine length is greatly shortened. standardized M4A7 magazines comes in 50 rounds, but being a M4 platform gun, it is highly customizable. the current variant in use is M4A7C(compact), M4A7S(silenced), M4A7A(accurate), and M4A7SAW(light machine gun, aka squad automatic weapon).
