Cloud'chaser's mother was actually a loner, who was welcomed into Lunar'clan (they're very friendly but also mysterious-) because she was expecting kits at the time. But when him and his sister were born, his mother died due to blood loss.

So, him and his sister were trained and became apprentices and eventually warriors. He never found who his dad was though.
