Chapter 2: Attacked

Topi examined her patient with discontent.
“Well,” she exhaled, “there doesn’t seem to be anything for me to fix.” She frowned and went to sit down at the table. She grabbed her purple tea mug and brushed a strand of blond hair out of her face.
“Oh, lighten up, will you? Nothing for you to fix is a good thing.” Siobhan commented. “Why do you always have to be so negative?”
“You weren’t bitten by a whole bunch of people who hated you and had to nurse yourself back to health in the wild. I think I have the right to be negative.” Topi sipped her tea and continued, “and anyways, I like taking care of people. You haven’t been in a good fight in a while.”
“That reminds me,” Siobhan started, and Topi looked up, “I saw one of them today. They know we followed them now.”
“Great,” Topi groaned. “We were on their trail and now they’re going to run off again.”
“Sorry to interrupt,” the other girl hesitated, “But someone’s at the door.”

Shaki didn’t know what to do, because at this news Siobhan started to grab weapons and the other lady, who she thought she heard her name was Topi, just sat there and drank her tea. At least Shaki thought it was tea. She still hadn't told them her secret; after all, she had just met them.
“Here,” Siobhan directed her, “Go out the back and run home.” She went towards the front door, and she looked frustrated.
“Wait,” Shaki called, and Siobhan looked back. “Let me help.” Siobhan and Topi looked at eachother and Topi nodded.
“Sneak around the back and surprise her.” Siobhan instructed. Shaki ran to the back door and ran through the gate. She saw the attacker and hid behind a bush.

Étoilette waited at the door for her opponent to come and face her. She spied orange through the small window in the door and was thrilled to get her revenge. The door opened, and she was not prepared for what came next.

Siobhan ran as fast as she could, which was really fast given that she had super speed from a curse her ancestors cast long ago. She didn’t really consider her speed a curse though. She chose to see it as a good thing rather than a bad one.
Siobhan hit Étoilette in the stomach as she sped past her. Her opponent cast small balls of fire at her, but she was too fast. She only stopped when she heard a sharp cry of pain and there were no more balls of fire coming at her

Étoilette let out a cry of pain as she felt the bones in her arm break. She turned around to see her target who appeared to have thrown a rather large rock at her. She retaliated by shooting a ball of fire, but her target somehow created a wall of earth to stop it.
“Now I know!” Étoilette shouted. “He wants you for your power! Nothing will stop him!” She sent a nasty curse in the direction of her target.
