Siobhan rushed to block Shaki, but it didn’t matter. Shaki pulled up a rock and it disintegrated when the curse hit it. Siobhan quickly turned around and hit Étoilette in the head and knocked her unconscious.
Shaki came towards her and was slightly shaky.
“Did she hurt you?” Siobhan asked, and Shaki shook her head.
“We have to take her to him,” Topi stated. Siobhan knew she was right, the King of the Elves would be able to protect their new charge.
“Alright, but we have to go now. They’ll be coming for her,” Siobhan exhaled. It would take several days to reach their destination.

After Étoilette had not returned for over an hour, Psychopath knew that something was wrong. If it weren’t for the fact that he could use her for her power, he would have killed her already.
“Shinto,” he began, “go and capture the target. Bring her to me. You know how valuable she is.”
“Yes, Psycho,” his prized assassin responded. As Shinto ran out the door, Psychopath turned to Jaelyn.
“Go fetch Étoilette. You may not understand why I keep her around, but I have my reasons. If you fail me, you will not be as lucky,” he cackled. “Now go!”
“Yes, Psycho. I will not fail you.” she replied. Jaelyn exited their hideout and Psychopath exhaled. He needed their target.

Shaki had been walking for what had felt like days, but what really had been only a few hours. She had the feeling they were being watched, but that was probably due to that fact that it was so foggy. She could barely see Siobhan in front of her.
“How long did you say this would take?” she inquired, already wiped from all this walking. Her brown boots were soaked through and she needed to take them off.
“We’re almost at a safehouse,” Siobhan answered. Shaki heard a loud sigh behind her.
“After that,” Topi grumbled, “It’s another three days' walk until we even reach the forest. Then it gets better! We have to walk another day through a forest full of who knows what!”
At this news, Shaki was slightly discouraged, but she was quickly distracted when she noticed a yellow thing moving to her left.

Shinto reached for his gun and aimed at his target’s protectors. He had focused on the orange colour of the front one’s hair when it suddenly disappeared. The next thing he knew his gun was gone and his target was running at him.

Siobhan hid the gun in a bush and rushed back to protect Shaki. She ran and hit her opponent. She didn’t know this one, normally she had dealt with Étoilette.
“Siobhan!” Topi yelled as the attacker grabbed her.
“Stay where you are!” he commanded. He pressed a knife to Topi’s throat and Siobhan could hear her struggle for breath. She knew that if she moved, her friend would die.
