I said that there was one more dragon I wanted to redesign before I end this series, and here he is in all his glory! The most relevant change is of course the name; you see the mobile game DragonVale is one of my main inspirations for this project, and this design was originally my interpretation of what the mythical dragon Sorec the Thunderer looked like. However, as I’ve transitioned this project towards being its own story in a separate universe, I knew that I’d have to forego that name for this character eventually so as to not be guilty of copyright infringement. To that end, that I decided to do was reverse the spelling of Sorec, change the C to a K, and replace the title with something different but still very similar. This way I can still say that this is an original character for my own story, while still paying heavy homage to the source material, which I think is a good compromise. Now as for the design itself, I actually changed quite a bit more that I was expecting to. I completely redrew the tail so its level with the torso, bulked up the neck a little as it looked a little too thin to me, and redrew and/or recolored several of the markings just to make them more interesting. I did also have to fully redraw the wings to they didn’t clash with the horns and tail, and although I don’t like these new ones as much as they old since they feel a bit smaller that I’d like, this is about as good as I can get them right now so I’m going to accept it. And for anyone curious, all of the lore about this guy essentially being an all-powerful dragon god is still in tact and won’t be changing anytime soon.

Sorry about that going on for so long, I had more to say about this guy than I was expecting. But now my friends the dragon redesign series is finally at its end, but know this: I am not done drawing dragons for this project just yet. I still have a tone of ideas rattling around in my head that I’m going to manifest here at some point in the future, so all of you can look forward to that whenever it comes!
