I watch the ocean waves, and note the fire burning out on a distant island. The waves hit the shore, and a powerful whoosh follows. I sigh, and the memories come, the memories of friends lost and made, the fierce battles fought, and, oh how this hurts, the memories of Oceanlight, my sister. For a moment, I feel her mind, her spirit reaching out to me. Then it fades. So much has happened in the last few years. I picture my sister, and all those I had lost. Primβ¦ I think of Willowβs sister, who I could have saved. There have been so many I could have savedβ¦ I finally think of the prophecy that she had shown me. I have a lot to do, trying to restore peace, and trying to run my small village, but sometimes, in between the busy times, it slips in, and I think about it, wondering what is still to come. I close my eyes, and listen to the waves, feeling the ocean breeze on my fur.
βHey, Isla,β my one cat who saves my sanity says, coming up behind me. I crane my neck to look behind me, looking at the cat behind me.
βHey, Nuri. Does someone need me?β I ask, turning around to stare at him. He sits beside me, and sighs.
βYeah, as a matter of fact, I do,β he replies quietly.
βYes?β I prompt him to continue.
βWellβ¦ You see, Iβve been having these dreamsβ¦β
βDreams?β I feel my fur start to bristle. I know how dangerous dreams can beβ¦
βThey are about the Lost Foxes,β he admits hesitantly. Heβs a smart one, that Nuri, Iβll give him that. Heβs one of the ones who knows how I feel about those horrible Foxes. I put my paw on his shoulder, prompting for him to go on. He grins weakly, and shifts his paws.
βWell? Donβt just stand there like a startled squirrel,β I say, swiping my paw over his ears playfully.
βWell, the Lost Foxes are planning an attack, and there is danger to comeβ¦β he trails off. I can tell his meaning, and I slightly nod.
There is still more to come⦠I hear the whispers in the night, and I prepare myself for the battle that is soon to come.
