Fulgur Goat

You know, I really need to stop promising you guys that I’ll be posting new additions to my roster of enemy creatures the day after the previous one, considering I’ve had at least two instances of making such a claim only to feel completely unmotivated to do so for several days afterwards. I do sincerely apologize for that, and rest assured I won’t make such a promise again unless I’m sure I can keep it. Now that all of that’s out of the way, you’re probably wondering why my newest creature of the Lightning element is a goat of all things. Well the main inspiration I used here was the pair of goats that pulled Thor’s chariot in Norse mythology named Tanngrisnir & Tanngnjóstr (please don’t ask me how to pronounce those names I have no idea), who were said to create the sound of thunder as they did so. This may not be as strong of a connection to the element as some of the other animals I’ve used thus far, but I still thought it was an interesting idea so I ran with it. To compensate for that, I also added fulgurite- bizarre rock formations formed from lightning striking loose terrain like sand- to the design, essentially giving this goat patches of fulgurite armor along its torso. How exactly it does this in-universe is something I still need to work out, but it’ll still make this guy one of the more challenging enemies to face in combination with its high mobility and powerful electrical attacks. This was a design I didn’t really plan out in my head before I started drawing it, which made the process a bit more difficult than it would normally be for me, but in the end I think it worked out rather nicely. So on that note, I hope all of you enjoy this one as much as I so and I’ll be back soon for the final creature of Lightining!
