the misconception is that pink is a colour, it is in fact just a shade and thus treated like one, for it to be pink it has to be very directly under red if you combine blue as in this image it would be counted as purple because its red and blue not pink just a light red.

It's a large part of it, it's more of a pinkish purple than true pink till you reach left edge of the gradient. However, screens may be different
