same chance

guy fixing the pipes because the leeches keep getting in our water and making us hallucinate (actually just fixing the pipes bc the pipes need to be fixed)
me: "estará listo para hoy" (will it be done by today)
plumber: "same chance"
i assumed this was affirmation bc it sounds like something that would be a common phrase in spanish and then get translated literally in english or smth and he knows that we speak english
actually no he is from brasil and his first language is portuguese and he wasnt thinking when he said that so actually it was
me: "estará listo para hoy" (will it be done by today)
plumber: "sem chance" (no way; literally "without chance")
and it took several days to finish and they had to install new pipes
lol idk i thought it's funny

basically i misunderstood someone who said "sem chance" (which means "no way" in portuguese) as them saying "same chance" and so I thought they were affirming my question and it was kinda funny

I just realized that the black outlines are saying 'Sem Chance" and I was like, "wha, portuguese??" as I was looking at the description, just for you to say that he was from Brazil and then i just went "OHHH that makes sence now" lol idk
And.... Sadly it wasnt a afirmation so it does make sence it took some days to finish it ;(
