All a human is really meant to be good at surviving. You are surviving, so you are competent. Even if there is a god/gods that created us, they would logically wait as long as they have for highly intelligent life to form on this one planet, so our universe is probably meant to evolve if that is true. The standards that you're measuring for being competent are set by said fellow highly intelligent life forms, and despite our objective intelligence, we all tend to be very objectively stupid, and a lot of those standards are stupid themselves. You are competent. And the way I see it, you're a nice, smart, and talented highly intelligent life form. You are competent.
