Like with Salakatoa, this Colossus is very simple in concept, as the main idea was to take my Orca-inspired Tidal Whale and evolve it into a true gigantic deep-sea monster. To that end I gave it a bit of extra bulk, made it’s color scheme much darker, and added a few extra fins and whiskers coming off of its main fins to make it feel like more of a mythological ocean beast. Just looking at this thing I can perfectly imagine it rising from the abyss and breaching the surface of the water, then crashing down with so much force it creates a tidal wave so large it blocks out the sun itself, and that visual alone is proof enough to me that this design is exactly what I was hoping it would be. So yeah, very happy with how this design came out, and I hope the rest of you enjoy it as well. This week will be dedicated to bringing the Colossi to life, and for the rest of this week I’ll be drawing two of them per day just like I did today, so stay tuned for that!
