While the last two creatures I created for the Metal element had some very deep reasoning behind why I chose them, this guy here is a much simpler concept. Based primarily on the Three-Banded Armadillo, what makes these guys stand out is their impeccable defense thanks to their leathery shells serving as natural armor, and the fact that this type of armadillo is- despite popular the belief- the only one capable of fully rolling into a protective ball. The prehistoric reference is also a very self-explanatory one for anyone familiar with this sort of this, as the design also references the Doedicurus- a type of extinct giant armadillo that notable also featured a spiked tail club. All of this came together to create this heavily-armored little bruiser here, who can not only smash its enemies upside the head with its mace-like tail, but also roll itself into a spiked metal ball and pummel its foes that way, and although it took me a good while to get the design just right, overall I’m happy with how it’s turned out. So I hope you guys like this guy as much as I do, and I’ll be back tomorrow for the next creature!
