So here’s the thing: I like every dragon I make for each element to be a different type of dragon, like a wyvern, a drake, a traditional western or eastern style dragon, and so on and so forth. That’s why the last dragon I made was a Fire-element lindwyrm: because I had made a dragon of that type for the Fire element. So for the Water element, because I didn’t have a wyrm for that element before now, I realized that it was the perfect opportunity to make a literal sea serpent. But I didn’t want to just stop at making an ordinary sea serpent, no no, as I wanted to take inspiration from real world Billfish- which includes Swordfish, Sailfish, and Marlins- and give it both a giant back sail and a long spear-like horn on its face that it can use to impale its enemies like a living harpoon. A bit of a weird idea now that I say it out loud, but I’ve always though billfish in general were really cool animals, and once I came up with this idea it was way too cool for me to not make use of it, so here we go! I really like how this design came out in the end, so I hope you guys like it too and I’ll see you again tomorrow to go from the seas to the skies!
