So for all of the dragons I’ve drawn so far for this set, Ive had at least a vague idea of how I wanted it to look before I started drawing it, and anything I still wasn’t decided on I’d just kind of figure out as I went. For this one however, I had absolutely no idea what I was gonna do with it. I wanted to try and make an Earth-element Amphithere, which are the kinds of dragons that have wings but no legs, and trying to come up with an idea that fit with that description before today was not an easy task for me. So when it came time for me to actually draw the thing, I kinda just starting throwing pixels on the screen and seeing if I could make something that worked. And you know what? I think it actually turned out pretty good! Mixing the typical browns I use for the Earth element alongside different shades of grey and green made for a very nice looking color scheme- and also inspired me to give it an earthquake theme for its name, don’t ask why I thought of that it just felt fitting to me- and the overall shape of this dragon is one that came out way better that I was expecting it to! The only part of the design that didn’t work out is that I wanted to give it arms as well as wings, but I couldn’t find a good way to make that work, so to compensate I gave it claws on the end of its tail so it can still use that as an arm. So despite not having any real plan for the design of this dragon, I was still able to make something that I really liked, so I consider that a major success, so I hope you all enjoy this guy as well and I’ll be back tomorrow for something that DOES have an actual concept behind it!
