For the last of my Ice element creatures I wanted to include a flying enemy among the roster, and while there were many aerial animals I could have gone with- eagles and snowy owls being two that I strongly considered- I ended up setting on what I consider the first truly unconventional pick for this element: the Atlantic Puffin. These little seabirds may not look like much at first glance, but they are in reality very effective flyers and swimmers and live in exactly the kind of cold climates that Ice magic thrives in. When drawing this guy I had a bit of trouble trying to make the proportions of it look good while still making it look like a puffin, since these guys are a bit more portly than your typical bird. But after at least 2 hours of trial-and-error I think I’ve settled onto a winner, and personally I love how I made this guy look. My decision to use a dark purple in place of the typical black of a puffin and use the other colors to create this gradient effect work out particularly well, and I think it looks awesome! This is probably the most unique looking out of all my Ice creatures, and it’s inspiring me to make it behave in a similarly unique way in the game, and for that I’m very proud of this design and I hope all of you enjoy it as well! This will also be my last drawing before Christmas and of 2025 as a whole, so I want to wish everyone a merry Christmas and a happy New Year, and I’ll see you all again in 2026 when I begin work on the next element: Nature!
